Featured Project: 1800Flowers.com
1800Flowers.com offers a range of gifts for delivery throughout the US.
The site is a Forbes Magazine Best of the Web pick, and has been named to Internet Retailer's Best of the Web Top 50 Retail Sites list for seven consecutive years.
My Role: Information Architect
I created a new layout and architecture for the home page, search results page and product category pages of the 1800Flowers.com site.
The redesign focused on meeting a new creative and brand direction for 1800Flowers, focusing on the thoughtful gift giver and increasing sales from their loyal, repeat customer base.
To streamline the shopping experience, design changes include:
- Eliminating similar product attributes (simplifying and focusing the search process).
- Allowing for multiple attribute selection (narrowing results more quickly).
- Providing consistent filter options throughout the site (creating a seamless experience whether using navigation to find products, or the search tool).
- Bringing key search components up to the home page (reducing errors and eliminating a major frustration with current customers).
- Increasing gift suggestions and allowing quick and easy product selection by last-minute shoppers.
Deliverables:
- Strategic information architecture recommendations based on 1800Flowers brand directives.
- Annotated wireframes (produced in Adobe InDesign)*
*Edited wireframes shown. Site changes are still in development and complete deliverables cannot be posted to respect client privacy. Please contact me for additional details and examples of work.
