Featured Project: Educational Technology
Texas Instruments works with educators throughout the world in designing and developing classroom technology.
My Role: HCI/Usability Analyst
Along with three other Carnegie Mellon HCI researchers, I conducted interviews with middle school teachers and evaluated their use of Texas Instruments educational software in the classroom.
The goal of the project was to standardize the look and feel and common functionality across TI software applications. Design recommendations also focused on increasing the productivity of the educator and engaging the classroom.
Based on study results, we developed software style guidelines for use when creating or updating TI educational software. We also redesigned their most popular calculator application, TI Connect, to be more user friendly and expose hidden functionality that teachers were not aware of.
